Friday the 13th!!! Are you superstitious?

The most popular superstition is that Friday 13th is the day of bad luck.

The superstition is a combination of two fears:
The fear of the day - Friday the 13th called "paraskevidekatriaphobia"
The fear of the number 13, called "triskaidekaphobia"

Some silly superstitions:

It's bad luck to walk under a ladder! ( do you believe that? I don't, but I never do it!)
Don't spill the salt! (hunn...maybe)
Watch out for Black Cats! (oh dear... I love cats)

A POEM TO MY MOM!!!

Many children go through life without a mom like you

CURIOSITY 1!!!

Vamos começar com a palavra PUDIM!

Hummm... quem resiste a um pudim de leite condensado com aquela calda... delicious!!!

So, a palavra PUDIM vem de PUDDING em inglês, que significa algo como “embutido”. Os primeiros pudins eram embutidos, você sabia?


Olha que interessante! Até o século XV todos os pudins na Inglaterra eram salgados, até o dia em que foi criado um pudim especial para as festas de Natal, chamado “Christmas Pudding”.

Só que esse tal de Christmas pudding era um “pouquinho” diferente do pudim que conhecemos hoje. O pudim era preparado com carne de boi, carne de carneiro, uva-passa, groselha, ameixa, vinho e pimentas variadas. (argh!) Depois de algum tempo a carne foi removida do pudim e foi acrescentado ovos e frutas secas. (hum... melhorou)

Por causa do vinho, os puritanos baniram o pudim da mesa em 1664, mas o rei George I, em 1714, o mandou voltar depois de uma prova – o pudim era bom demais para ser proibido!
